I understand what … I understand what you’re saying. He should have said that in the directions. Some cakes need greasing and some don’t. It depends on the type of cake. Any cake that uses beaten egg whites to leaven it should not have the sided of the cake pan greased.
You don’t have to. … You don’t have to. That’s why you run the knife around the edge when you take it out. You can put some on the bottom, but not on the sides.
He didn’t spray … He didn’t spray the pan because the cake needs to stick to the sides in order to rise properly. You never use oil on an angel food cake pan.
Now why didnt he … Now why didnt he spray the pan with Pam or something? That cake looks like a paper weight typical of most low fat/ low carb recipes, but I’d still eat it, begrudginly. Even though the chef looks tastier!
The character count … The character count isn’t large enough for me to give full reasoning. But still i dont think the atkins diet is suitable for the majority of the population due to the high incidence of people living extremely sedentary lifestyles. I myself am on a cyclic ketogenic diet similar to atkins (simiar), but i excercise regularly. As far as im aware, the majority of people think atkins is a suitable way to loose weight while remaining inactive (although i could be wrong…)
One thing to bear … One thing to bear in mind about low-carbing is that if you go high-protein, low-fat, and low-carb, eventually you will make yourself sick. Traditional cultures always ate protein with fat. You need fat for cell/tissue building and maintenance as well as for energy. It also really helps with satiety.
Do a Google search … Do a Google search for Accu-Chef, which is a recipe software. It links to the USDA database and as long as the ingredients are in that database, you can look up the nutritional info of any recipe you input. I use it and love it, it’s very helpful with low-carbing.
Butter is very, … Butter is very, very good for you and the Atkins diet is just fine. If you can’t say why something is bad then don’t waste space condemning it.
Weight loss isn’t … Weight loss isn’t actually about calories, for all kinds of reasons that I don’t have room to enumerate here. You need to read Gary Taubes’s Good Calories, Bad Calories. It’s a real eye-opener–the man’s a science writer.
guy, you are the … guy, you are the best every year that i want to start my low carb diet, i see your video and i’m happy that are people like you because l’idea to do this doesn’t come from all
Looks soooo good I … Looks soooo good I agree…Do you grease the pan? And is the cake light and fluffy like andel food? Because it looked more like a pound cake texture? Either way it looks delicious and guilt free!!!!
Fourthly:
My … Fourthly:
My personal oppinion on fat loss is that most people fail because they try to replace foods that are bad for them with false alternatives. This keeps you hooked in to the visual and oral sensations that these bad foods provide, but the body doesn’t have the reaction it is expecting (e.g. large quantities of carbs/sugar), so the cravings never become fully satisfied.
If you want to loose fat, train yourself to like good food, not dogy imitations of high cal stuff.
Firstly:
Don’t do … Firstly:
Don’t do atkins it’s bad, and the chocolate cake has butter in it which im not so keen on.
Secondly:
This cake lookes awesome. Super low carb. (for anyone on a sensible weight loss plan, or on a ‘cutting’ day for a carb cycling type plan) and very high protein!
Thirdly:
Im not keen on sweeteners, especially sucralose and aspertame. Noone can really say what effect they have on you, so i’d rather not be a guinea pig.
Why not use fruit … Why not use fruit AND Stevia, the natural low carb plant extract sweetener? It’s been used safely in Japan over 30 years in foods! If you’re in the U.S., get it at the health food store. I use the white powder all the time in smoothies, and the clear liquid stevia in drinks.
Sorry, I stand … Sorry, I stand corrected it is 1/2 cup of whole wheat in this recipe so if the serving size would be 1/6 then the carbs would be 7.6666 g not much more than the chocolate cake you referred to
There are 23 g of … There are 23 g of in 1/4 cub of whole wheat flour so if you had 1/6 slice if cake you would be consuming 3.83 g of carbs
The recipe did say low carb not nor carb
I think that is pretty good for low carb. Unles of course your going to eat the entire cake at once.

If that’s the case, it would be nice to know. How often do you bake something without lubricating the pan with something?
